32/52 | The Force Minute Mile

52 Weeks of Star Wars is a weekly photo project starring various characters from the Star Wars franchise. This photo project is a continuation of sorts to my original series; 365 Days of Clones, specially my Cloned Photos mini-series.

Today marks the Thirtieth Second creation in this year long adventure. As the title suggests; 52 Weeks of Star Wars, one new photo will be taken, edited and added to the running total every Sunday. The twist is that all the images will be a recreation of sorts of a previous image. Some; like today, will be a recreation from a famous image of the 20th century, while others will be movie posters or album covers. There may even be the odd recreation of a painting!

“The Force Minute Mile” is my recreation of the infamous image of Sir Roger Bannister breaking the four minute mile for the first time on May 6, 1954.

Some of you may be wondering why I chose to create a Cloned Photo base upon this iconic sporting moment. As many of you known, the Olympic Games were officially closed today and I thought it would be fun to create a photograph that paid homage to the host nation. Prior to the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, it was thought by many that Sir Roger Bannister was going to light the Olympic Cauldron. As it turns out, he did not, instead it was lit by several future athletes from Britain. Bannister is considered by many to be one of the top British athletes of the 21st century. I thought I would pay homage to this great British athlete with a little Tatooine twist!
