36/52 | Troopers Raising the Flag at Ground Zero
52 Weeks of Star Wars is a weekly photo project starring various characters from the Star Wars franchise. This photo project is a continuation of sorts to my original series; 365 Days of Clones, specially my Cloned Photos mini-series.
Today marks the Thirtieth Sixth creation in this year long adventure. As the title suggests; 52 Weeks of Star Wars, one new photo will be taken, edited and added to the running total every Sunday. The twist is that all the images will be a recreation of sorts of a previous image. Some; like today, will be a recreation from a famous image of the 20th century, while others will be movie posters or album covers. There may even be the odd recreation of a painting!
“Troopers Raising the Flag at Ground Zero” is my recreation of the infamous image Raising the Flag at Ground Zero taken by Thomas E. Franklin of three Firemen raising the American flag after the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
Some of you may be wondering why I chose to create a Cloned Photo base upon this iconic moment. Tuesday marks the eleventh anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Similarly to my Troopers Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima , I wanted to pay my respect to those lives that were lost during this tragic event. I hope I have done the original photo justice in my photographic homage.
Enjoy!

I missed this one… I think you managed to stay on the right side of the homage-parody line. Intentionally creating a miniature scene of wreckage is not easy, and probably harder when it has to resemble a specific scene.
